The Distillery started its first Rum and Whiskey trails back in 2013 when I became interested in the idea of making my own Rum and Whiskey, but life happened, I had a full-time job as an IT Professional that kept me busy on weekdays and a wedding to plan over the weekends that was keeping me and my Funds permanently occupied.
For the wedding back in 2015 we decided that we will not have a cash bar where our guests would need to buy their own drinks, we would rather supply our reception with our hand crafted spirits for all to enjoy, needless to say after the wedding we had numerous calls from the guests to enquire about the origin of our spirits only to find out that it was our own. which made us think about the possibilities of pursuing our dream as craft distillers.
Me and my wife Martie decided to start the development phase of our spirit range over the next couple of years where we met allot of new people and so also gathered allot of IP and know how as well as some fancy distilling equipment to pursue our craft and perfecting our recipes. in 2019 we decided to officially register the distillery as a craft distillery with SARS, CIPC and SACDI but got hampered by the Global Covid 19 pandemic. so, for the time being the distillery and the plans to bring our spirits into production is halted due to the cost implications and the volatile economy as financing a distillery at this moment is a very daunting task as it will be done with personal funds.
